USES:This medication is used to treatanxiety. It is also used foralcohol withdrawal.
HOW TO USE:This medication is given by injection into a vein (IV) or muscle (IM) by a health care professional. The solution should be prepared just before using. Discard any unused solution. For IM use, prepare the solution only with the special liquid provided. For intravenous use, prepare the solution with saline or sterile water. Use this medication exactly as directed. Do not increase the dose or use it more often or continue using this for longer than prescribed.
SIDE EFFECTS:Drowsiness,dizziness,lightheadedness,headacheor irritation at the injection site may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: a rapidheartrate,chest pain, yellowing of eyes or skin,情绪changes, coordination problems, strange thoughts, mentalconfusion,depression. A seriousallergic reactionto this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a seriousallergicreaction include:rash,itching, swelling, severedizziness, troublebreathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS:Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of:kidney disease,heart disease,liver disease,seizure disorders,allergies. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Alcoholicbeverageswill intensify these effects. Limitalcoholintake. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication makes you drowsy. This medication is not recommended for use duringpregnancy. Consult your doctor before using this medication. This drug may pass intobreast milkand have undesirable effects on anursinginfant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:Tell your doctor of allover-the-counterand prescription medication you may use including:sedatives,antidepressants,cimetidine, narcoticpainrelievers, other medicines that make you drowsy (including certainantihistaminessuch asdiphenhydramine). Antihistamines are present in manycough-and-coldproducts. Check labels carefully for thesedrugs. Consult your pharmacist if you are uncertain your medicines contain antihistamines. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE:If overdose is suspected, contact your localpoison controlcenter or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly. Symptoms of overdose may include confusion, slow reflexes, clumsiness, deepsleep, andloss of consciousness.
NOTES:Do not share this medication with others.
MISSED DOSE:If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE:Store powder at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Refrigerate the special liquid provided for mixing the drug.
