With sore throat I was having problem swallowing food and even drinking. But I felt good while having hot tea or coffee. I used some home remedy for this, I used to take ginger tea for comfort. I also used to gargle with Betadine gargle solution which I believe was the best thing I have done.

I have sore throat several times and during COVID it was the worst. I used to gargle 3 times every day with betadine solution and used to take herbal tea 2 times. I had some OTC medicines which you can find online or nearby pharmacy, no need of prescription for them. And I also used to inhale Karvol plus with water vapor. It worked for me.

I am 64 and retired against my will with chronic epilepsy among other things. I breathe normally and pain-freely until I get out and exert myself like cutting the yard, etc. When I do exert myself in open air, I breathe fine for a few minutes and then, though I can still breathe freely and swallow normally, I develop an extremely painful wrenching in my throat as if someone has a vice grip squeezing the nerves. I am not diabetic and have not been diagnosed with asthma, etc. I can stand onstage and sing pain free for 30 to 45 minutes at a time.

I have had sore throat for almost two weeks; tested and found no infection or strep. I take liquid analgesic which only helps for about 10 minutes. I use cough drops and Chloraseptic spray with little relief. Next I will try sinus irrigation to relieve post-nasal drip and medication for acid reflux.

My throat hurts from sore throat.

I have had a sore throat for about a week, with a fever and sweats at night. It's very tough to eat. I am 44 and in good shape. I have never had cold symptoms for more than a week, but last year, I moved into an apartment that heats with forced hot air. I had the same sore throat last year for more than three weeks. Finally, I went to the doctor. He gave me a week's supply of antibiotics. That was the only thing that cured it. My point is: If you are not a chronic sick person, and your cold symptoms last for more than a week, call you doctor. You don't even have to see him, a nurse can fill a prescription over the phone.

i am suffering from severe tonsillitis caused by a sore throat. Now I am towards the end of a long course of Amoclan 1g, together with Ibidroxil 500mg. Now the signs of tonsillitis are diminishing but an intolerable severe throat burning developed. I cannot drink water regularly, because of the burning and cannot talk for more than 5 minutes because i feel choked.

I have had a sore throat for more than two years. I saw an ENT and was told it was caused by GERD. At first, Prilosec helped a little. The dose was increased to twice a day with no change. I have had an endoscopy, which was negative.

I have had a sore throat for four days now. It came on within a couple of hours with aches in my neck, swollen glands, headache, and a slight swelling in my cheeks. There's also a fever too, which won't seem to budge. In the past, I've found that warm honey and lemon with ground ginger and beechams/lemsip usually work quite well for soothing, as well as gargling with warm salt water/saline solution. Ice lollies/popsicles help too.

I got a cold that led to my sore throat, which I have had for five days now, and I still have it. I find that drinking coke soothes my throat and eating cereal helps as well. Sometimes the pain is too much to eat, but I always force myself to eat.

My sore throat symptoms progressed to include a fever that felt very high and disturbed my sleep, though I do not know exactly how high my fever got. I believe the fever was so bad because I was dehydrated. My doctor had warned me to drink plenty, but I ignored her because it hurt so bad to drink or eat. That was a bad mistake. I think I would have been in the hospital if I had not started forcing down liquids last night. It has now been about seven days since my sore throat began. I am 52 years old. I mention this because I have rarely been sick since childhood, but since turning 50, my illnesses are pretty severe. My doctor says this is normal. So I hope all those older than 50 will take special note.

I had a sore throat for about a month before my regular oncology checkup. It was in the right side of my throat and I didn't really notice it unless I was swallowing. I talked to the Doctor about it on my visit and he suggested getting off of the exemestane for 7 days to see what happened. At the end of those 7 days it was just about gone. I started taking the exemestane again. Now 3 months have gone by and the sore throat is back on the right side of my throat again. It wasn't there last week when I had my regular check-up, so I will contact the Doc with the current happenings. I also have joint pain and muscle pain that have gotten much worse since the beginning of this year. Looks like it may be time for a change to something else. I am in a research study between exemestane and tamoxifen, so we will see what happens.

My severe sore throat (pharyngitis) was accompanied by dryness and inflammation for four weeks. Advil or Ibuprofen was significantly better for me than Tylenol; however, I used the liquid form because of the severity of soreness and pain. My doctor prescribed prednisone because of the length and severity of pain and inflammation (40 milligrams for two days; then 30 milligrams for two days; then 20 milligrams for two days; then 10 milligrams for two days; then I was finished. My pharyngitis was thought to be brought on by my inhalation of a chemical irritant.

My son was very healthy and has not been sick for years. He is now going into his 4th week of ulceric white lumps. Painful throat, can't swallow. Nothing is working. Doctors are ignoring us now as they say to ride it out Idiots! Will have to go to the hospital tomorrow. Hopefully there will be a native doctor from this country who knows more about medicine than the textbook or website he/she reads.

I have had a sore throat for about two months. It is always there but sometimes isn't that bad. This past week it has been really sore and I haven't been able to sing well. What should I do? I’m wondering if I might have strep throat.

I have had a sore throat for four days, and I lost my voice on the second day. My voice has been gone for the past three days, and it hurts to sallow. Also, my ears and chest hurt. I've been taking cough drops and Aleve.

我三周前开始喉咙痛。双方of my throat are inflamed. My tonsils are swollen. I have no fever, but I do have jaw pain on my left side. I saw a dentist who thought it was an abscessed tooth. I went for a root canal and was told there was no abscess. I took penicillin for 10 days, which provided no relief for my sore throat. Swallowing liquid even hurts. Salty foods really irritate it. I also had two canker sores that are now gone. My primary care doctor said to go back to the dentist. There's a white spot on the tissue of my cheek. Ibuprofen helps with the pain.

My throat was sore for about three days. I personally am a smoker and didn’t want anything to do with normal cigarettes. However, menthol cigarettes were actually soothing. I’m not saying to start smoking, but if you already do, then try it out. Also, anything with honey made me feel better. Anything warm, such as tea or cocoa, and, of course, aspirin.

我最近一直很喉咙痛every time I eat potato chips. I have experimented by eating other similar crunchy foods thinking I may be eating too fast and scratching my throat. It even feels like this is a lump where I swallow. I believe this is some kind of allergy because I only get it with potato chips, even if I eat only one chip. The soreness and swelling usually lasts for about 12 hours and just disappears as fast as it starts, which is usually a half hour after eating the chip. My doctor has never heard of this before and doesn’t know what it is. He just says, "Stop eating chips!"

About a week ago, my throat started to hurt. First thing I always do when this happens is an age-old cure my mom always made us do: I had about half a teaspoon of table salt to half a glass of warm water and gargle. If I do this right away, I usually nip it in the bud, and it doesn't get worse. Usually some Tylenol Extra Strength helps if it gets worse.

My sore throat started yesterday morning. It felt a little scratchy, but as the day went on it became more and more painful. And today, I am miserable. I can't eat, can't sleep and I keep getting the chills. I think I may be running a fever. I believe it's my sinuses giving me this trouble because I can feel drainage in the back of my throat. When I cough, it's so dry, and nothing comes up. It doesn't help that I also am a mouth-breather at night, which irritates the problem even more. I am going to get a humidifier tonight and put that in my bedroom. Other than that, ibuprofen and Tylenol helps control the pain. Chloraseptic spray helps numb the throat temporarily.

This is day 2 of this rotten horrible sore throat. I felt it brewing for about a week or so. Not sure if I got it from my work mates, or from the kids. So far I suspect 3 out of 4 of us have it, my husband is just waiting for his turn, upon reading up on it, it seems to run through families. I started the real sore throat the day before yesterday, had it all day yesterday, enough for myself and my young son to have it checked out by our Dr, turns out we both have it. I'm more of a baby with it than he is. Today is day 2, couldn’t sleep last night, every time I swallowed it would just be so painful and uncomfortable, so I had a very disruptive night last night. Have had signs of a fever, all I've tried is gargling Diaspirin Max, salt water, eating honey off a spoon, that alleviates the pain only very temporarily. Been advised to eat soft foods, up the dose on water, and get rest!

I always wash my hands first, then pore one parts Hydrogen Peroxide and two parts water, mix well and gorgle throat about three or four times. When finished rinse with water and brush teeth. Take two Ibuprofen tablets for fever, and one Aleve tablet for pain. I ate chicken noodle soup and drank orange juice to boost my immune system, and got plenty of rest. I also rubbed alcohol on the outside of my throat,in an upward motion. I repeated for four to five days for relief.

My throat has been sore off and on for about a week. During the day it is OK, but when night comes, it is extremely sore. When I wake up it's slightly sore. I have been taking lozenges, hot tea and lemon, and lozenges in hot water. One day the right side is sore; the next day, the left side is sore; then both!

I have had a sore throat for four months now, and I have taken every medicine for it. Once I stop taking the medicine, it will come back. I’m tired of taking medicines.

I have had a sore throat for 2 years. I have had every test in the world done and seen 5 doctors. I think it’s chronic sinus infections and the way my drainage is so screwy. It is very debilitating and advances to inflammation/infection so that I've been on antibiotics about 12 times.

My husband has had a sore throat for 10 months and no one can discover the problem. He has had barium, an MRI scan, and cameras down his throat and nothing can be detected and yet his throat is sore, his voice keeps going and still we don't know why.

我仍然很痛当我吞下,哈哈s been 4 days and I received a shot of penicillin about 6 hours after I suddenly had throat pain and fever of 102. I also received Novocaine to numb the throat, it feels no different. I barely was able to eat a little yesterday. Hot chicken soup actually soothed my throat long enough to swallow some Tylenol and Motrin to break the fever.
