What are risk factors for diabetickidney disease?

Research has clearly shown that abnormally elevated values for totalcholesterol, average blood pressure, andhemoglobin A1ccarry the greatest weight as risk factors for diabetic kidney disease. Other factors of lesser (but still some) significance are the fatty substances low-density lipoprotein (LDL) andtriglycerides.
It is important to note that all of the above risk factors can be "modified" or influenced bydiet,exercise, and/or medications.
